Service types are a critical component of using the TurnPoint system. It provides necessary information for providers to generate appointments and schedule them on the system.
In the TurnPoint system, you can add as many service types as you wish, but in this article, we will discuss how to add NDIS service type as there are few differences.
<Article>
Step 1: Access the Service Types Menu
Navigate to the 'Other/Config' menu and select the 'Service Type' option
Step 2: Add a New Service Type
Once you're in the service type section, click on the 'Add New Service Type' button to start the process of adding a new service type.
Step 3: Enter Service Type Name
In the 'Service Type' field, enter the name of the new service type you want to add. We recommend also adding the package type name next to the service type name to categorise it under the relevant funding or package source (e.g. NDIS – Domestic Assistance or HCP – Domestic Assistance).
Step 4: Set Default Charged Rate
This is where it gets different.
For Non-NDIS service type, default charged rate will be pulled through invoices. However, for NDIS service type, this 'Default Charged Rate' field is used just as a reference and will not be used for billing purposes since NDIS support item code will drive rate
Step 5: Choose NDIS Category and Support Items
The 'NDIS Category' and 'NDIS Support Items' fields are important as they help classify the service type and determine the billing rate. You can select the appropriate category and support items by searching through the drop-down list, which is updated according to the NDIS catalogue maintained by TurnPoint. You can use either the description or code to search for the right support item, but the code is the most accurate way.
Once linked to the right code, TurnPoint's “NDIS Quotes Time Interpreter” automatically assigns the code based on the date & time of the appointment.
Step 6: Set Travel Charges
If there are any travel charges associated with this NDIS service type, you can set them according to the code in the NDIS price guide catalogue.
* ABT – this is to charge Travel WITH client
* Provider Travel – this is to charge Travel TO client
Step 7: Add the New Service Type
Once you have completed all the necessary fields, click on the 'Add Service' button to add the new service type to the system.
