Quick Overview:
Service Types represent the units of care to be provided under a package to a client. Essentially Service Types are the services you actually provide to a client.

Steps:
- Determine your list of packages that you will be using within the TurnPoint system.
- Click "Service Types" under Other Config menu on the sidebar.

Click "Add new service type" -
Fill out the necessary fields.
- Service Type (Name to distinguish service)
- Package (Optional - If applicable to one package only, leave blank if available to all)
- Service Code (Optional - It's a short form code to represent a service type throughout the system. This code will appear on exported file when importing data onto the accounting system)
- Billing Type (You can set this to ‘hourly’ most of the time, ‘fixed’ can be selected for any service that has a fixed rate (i.e. sleepover allowance) NONE can be used for non-chargeable appointments, chemists pickups, training sessions etc.)
- Payroll Code (Optional - short form code to represent when exporting to payroll system)
- Payment Type (If or how to pay care workers. 'Shift Pay' will override appointments contained during this appointment)
- Payroll Classification (Optional - Leave blank if unknown. Can be used in payroll export for buddy appointments, workers compensation, training etc)
- Default Charge Rate (Leave as 0 if NDIS Service or defined by Accounting System)
- Tax Rate (As required)
- Default qualifications required (Qualifications needed by the employee to be assigned shift - you will need to have completed Article 1 before assigning qualifications)
- Enable Transport Points (if enabled, you can select pickup/drop-off point when creating a service appointment)
- Notes (is provided to recording notes about the Service Type. It is not visible elsewhere in the system)
- Dex Code (if applicable to this service)
- DVA Code (if applicable to this service)
- HACC Service Type (if applicable to this service)
- NDIS Category (If NDIS Service)
- NDIS Support Item (If NDIS - Use the quick search field to search all available services in the NDIS Price Guide)
- Provider Travel (Only applies for select NDIS support items, approved for participant support)
- Provider Travel (Only applies for select NDIS support items, approved for participant support)
- Rate Override (for NDIS only - if you want to override the NDIS price guide)
- Default Recurrence (if specified, the system will remind to schedule based on last service delivery date)
- Ignore conflicts (Will not notify of conflicts in weekly planner. Useful to set to YES for group sessions, transport etc.)
- DVA Nursing (Applicable to DVA Nursing only. Leave blank if not needed. Adding CLINICAL: YES will consider the appointments as CLINICAL)

Once Mandatory/applicable fields are filled out, click on "Add Service" at the bottom

Repeat Steps 2-5 for each service type identified in step 1

Checklist
You have successfully completed this step if you have:
- Identified a list of services you provide
- Created all services within TurnPoint
- Identified any additional rules you would like applied (i.e. Sat billing) - If needed you have contacted the TurnPoint team for assistance in creating these rules
Bulk Upload
With Service Types we do not recommend a bulk upload. As these are the services you are providing it is important to get it right and taking the time to go through one by one is vital for the system to work in the way you want to.
