Edit Service Types

Service Types – View Edit Available from the Service Types screen. Service Type as a field is a descriptive name. Packages can be linked to the Service Types via a dropdown list. When a Service Type is available to all packages, no package is selected. Service Code is a “short form” code to represent a Service Type throughout the system and on various file exports etc. It is usually derived by condensing the Service Type. Billing Type will distinguish between hourly and fixed rate costs. If a service is not to be billed then setting Billing Type to “None” will prevent billing of the service to the client. Payroll Code (Used by Inerva only at present) drives the pay rates used to pay staff for appointments at the designated pay level. Payment Type will distinguish between hourly and fixed rate input costs, ie payroll costs to staff. If a Service is not to be paid to staff then a setting of None is selected. A Notes field is provided to recording notes about the Service Type. It is not visible elsewhere in the system. Service Types are able to be made inactive at any point in time by setting the Deleted flag. Once “deleted” a Service Type can be viewed by selecting the View Deleted Service Types button. Existing appointments associated with an inactive service type should be updated to a new service type. Inactive service types are unavailable for selection for new appointments and when associating service types to a package. The system will display an error when attempting to edit an appointment if they are associated with an inactive service type. Select the Update Service button to make the changes.
